Who Writes and Reviews Content

Content is produced by writers with experience in canine nutrition research and reviewed by licensed veterinary professionals or certified veterinary technicians. Medical and nutrition claims are checked against peer-reviewed literature, AAFCO standards, AVMA guidance, or statements from U.S. government agencies before publication.

We require contributors to disclose any financial, professional, or personal ties to pet food brands, supplement companies, or veterinary product manufacturers. Authors with a conflict of interest are not assigned to content where that conflict could bias the outcome.

Our Research Process

Before an article or calculator update is published, we complete the following steps:

1. Source identification. We identify primary sources such as the NRC nutrient requirements, AAFCO official publications, peer-reviewed journals, and reputable veterinary institutions.
2. Cross-verification. Claims are checked against multiple independent sources whenever possible.
3. Methodology documentation. Calculator logic is documented internally so outputs can be reproduced and audited.

Fact-Checking and Corrections
